چکیده

In order to execute analytical queries in data warehouses, many researchers proposed various system architectures. We also develop spatial information systems for real time location services using PHS and GPS, we need OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) technologies in our traffic data warehouse. In order to deal with huge amount of data, many kinds of attributes, and a lot of dynamic queries, we store temporal spatial data using ∑ -tree, which is the data structure to calculate traffic parameters fast. Our proposed ∑ -tree can decrease computing costs by making nodes with spatial constraints and using prefix-sum techniques. We also discuss how to calculate traffic parameters in ∑ -tree. We compare ∑ -tree with 3DR-tree by using simulation data based on the traffic model of Hanshin expressway. We evaluate “the number of operations in a query region” by counting the numbers of nodes in a query space and objects in leaf nodes. As the result, we make clear that ∑ -tree is superior to 3DR-tree.

Toward Better Support for Spatial Decision Making: Defining the Characteristics of Spatial On-line Analytical Processing (solap)

To exploit the full potential of the spatial and temporal dimensions of a data warehouse, new tools are needed. It has been shown that OLAP possesses a certain potential to support spatio-temporal analysis. However, without a spatial interface for viewing and manipulating the geometric component of the spatial data, the analysis may be incomplete. A new category of OLAP tools, SOLAP (Spatial OL...

Integrating Data Warehouses with Web Data for Olap Using Semantic Data Clustering Techniques

Nowadays, Information retrieval plays an important role in the web. Many researches presented techniques for information retrieval process from databases. The previous work presented extended tree pattern clustering process for XML massive storages. This paper presents a new technique termed semantic data clustering (SDC) technique for combining the Data warehouse and web data for OLAP by retri...

CSM - A Maintenance Tool for Data Warehouse Structures

CoSM (Comet Structure Manager) is a tool for the maintenance of data warehouse structures based on the temporal data warehouse model COMET. Current data warehouse systems do not care for changes in dimension data. CoSM allows keeping track of modifications made in the dimension-structure of multidimensional cubes stored in an OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) system. CoSM can download dimens...

Maintaining Temporal Warehouse Models

DWT is a tool for the maintenance of data warehouse structures based on the temporal data warehouse model COMET. Data warehouse systems do not provide support for maintaining changes in dimension data. DWT allows keeping track of modifications made in the dimension-structure of multidimensional cubes stored in an OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) system. We present the overall structure of t...

Efficient OLAP Query Processing in Distributed Data Warehouses

The success of Internet applications has led to an explosive growth in the demand for bandwidth from ISPs. Managing an IP network requires collecting and analyzing network data, such as flowlevel traffic statistics. Such analyses can typically be expressed as OLAP queries, e.g., correlated aggregate queries and data cubes. Current day OLAP tools for this task assume the availability of the data...
